Joy of handphones these days.

Well, I was about to go on another one of my rant on the ISPs here, (Summary: Starhub is slow, Singnet gives the same speed at 3.5mbit as Starhub's 6.5mbit. On the other hand, the modem provided by Singnet, 2wire, is about as useful as the candy I dropped on the floor. Wireless signal weak as hell. Starhub's one, from Motorola, fair much better.} when I saw something as I was crawling through some HK news sites.

Namely: 巴士阿叔.

For those who have not heard of it, watch it here:

It's offensive, but hey, you can learn some cantonese swears in the process.

Just...tone down the volume if your family knows cantonese. XD

Anyway, for the lazy, it's about some dude on a bus who got annoyed about the guy in front of him talking on his cellphone too loudly, and decided to make his feelings known.

Then....

Watch for yourself. XD

The whole thing was recorded by someone who was on the bus as well (handphone, judging from the quality).

And whoa, it made headlines.

That's it on the news, sorry for having no subs on that one. Maybe I'll make one when I'm free. LoL.

But, it shows how stressed up society is these days. Such a small incident, can get into a fight. All that uncle needed was to...step back, and the world spins again. I mean, if the news is right, and that this is a bus to Yuen Long, it can be a very very long ride (At least an hour on most buses going in. I take 1 hour 45 minutes when I stayed at my uncle's place). The guy being scolded wasn't all that helpful either, making all that smart assed remarks. If only both of them were a little more..forgiving.

Then again, where's the fun in that?

And speaking of the passengers, you can't exactly say "What happened to them?". Imagine you in their seat. Will you dare go near them? Will you actually play peace maker?

I think not.

So, the next best solution?

Tape it.

On your cellphone.

Welcome to the world's latest usage of candid camera: Cellphones. Your embarassing moments, all on film.

And soon to be all on the net too.

Scary thought. :o

But a fun one. What's the point of not having embarassing videos on the net? Besides, with the video quality, and without enhancements, you can't really tell who is who. However, times have certainly changed. Instead of talking it to your friends, you could, take a picture of it in the past. Now, you just take the damned video, post it on Youtube and spread the link. Now watch, as the world laughs at the person's expense.

Unless...it's you.

Then, it's a different story. However, with the quality of the videos today, all you need to do is to change your hairstyle, and no one would notice.

For now. Until the quality of these cellphone cameras increase, that is.

Until then....
